Without further ado, here is our first installment of Industry Reports. Each week, we will be taking a look at the industries that we have the most contact with and posting different news and happenings. Today we dive into the child care services industry:

– This first article describes the benefits of parents volunteering with their children’s school to foster a better home-school connection. This also makes it easier on the teacher when parental involvement is prominent in a child’s home life. (via Earlychildhood News)

– This next article takes a look at the effects of a new study relating extreme shyness in children and its impact on academic success as early as pre-school. (via Education Week)

– This next article is about how the Tallahassee Area Foster and Adoptive Parent Association (TAFAPA) are in need of support and volunteers after a fire destroyed their Heartland House Resource Center.
(via Florida Department of Children and Families)

– This article is about how a school in Oregon is conducting a screening test for all students to take during their first days at school which would gauge how ready each pupil is to start kindergarten.
