– Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few days, much of the Northeast has been in the destruction path of Hurricane Sandy. The storm has flooded and destroyed a lot of the Northeast and left many without power. This is an article which lists the top 10 shared terms on Facebook during the storm. The number one shared term is “we are ok” with “power (lost power, have power, no power)” coming in second place. (via Mashable)

– Today Disney has purchased Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion dollars. This acquisition by Disney will lead to a new “Star Wars” movie in 2015. (via cNet)

– Verizon Wireless’ version of the HTC Windows Phone 8X will have an interesting advantage over its AT&T counter part. The phone (for Verizon only) will offer wireless charging. (via cNet)

– Windows 8, the newest version of Microsoft’s operating system was launched last week and it is doing fantastic in sales. Microsoft has sold 4 million updates in 4 days. (via Mashable)

– A recent study has shown a link between Facebook, weight gain and credit card debt. Apparently, keeping watch of your good friends’ activities on social media correlates to a higher body-mass index and higher levels of credit card debt. These close connections increase your self-esteem, thereby allowing you to let your guard down and temporarily lose self control. (via Yahoo! News)
