As is Wednesday tradition, BBIMI is getting wacky and giving you a glimpse at 10 weird and definitely strange state laws you did not know before you read this blog post. The world is full of useless, yet entertaining AND factual information and we would be crazy not to shed some light on this subject. Who knows when these laws were passed and why they still stand to this day? That’s not for us to decide. We’d rather share! Enjoy this Humpday treat courtesy of BB Insurance Marketing.

– It is illegal to mispronounce “Arkansas” in the state of Arkansas.

– A man with a moustache cannot kiss a woman in public in the state of Iowa.

– In Utah, on all highways, birds have the right away.

– Bear wrestling matches are prohibited in Alabama.

– In South Dakota, it is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.

– The fine for waving a gun in Cape Coral, Florida while in public is higher than actually shooting it.

– In Minnesota, women may face up to 30 days in jail if they impersonate Santa Claus.

– In Kentucky, One may not dye a duckling blue and offer it for sale unless more than six are for sale.

– In Vermont, women must obtain written permission from their husbands to wear false teeth.

– In Youngstown, Ohio, it is actually illegal to run out of gas.

BB Insurance Marketing is a full-service insurance agency located in South Florida that specializes in business, personal and benefits insurance. Childcare, gas stations, pest control and restaurants are just a few of the niche markets we work in.
